It’s hot. And sometimes you may wonder how you can escape this irrepressible heat. That’s the way we felt a few days ago, so we decided to escape to Snowshoe Mountain, West Virginia.
It’s a nine hour drive from Chattanooga, but oh, is it ever worth it. The weather was wonderful. And lots of activities going on, if that’s what you want to do. You can hike, take the ski lift down to Shaver’s Lake, or sit on the balcony and read. I consider this a cruise, but on land. A place where you can really get away.
In this post and consequent posts, I’ll show you the trip up to Snowshoe, we’ll take a tour of Snowshoe Mountain, and we’ll even do a day trip to Monterey, Virginia, just over the West Virginia state line. Monterey is a lovely town, set back in time.
So sit back and enjoy the ride. When you finish all this, take your own trip. You are going to love it, whether it is summer or winter.
